Buying a Defender |

Hi, we are looking to buy a Defender 110 shortly and am weighing up whether to get a late TD5, Puma 2.4, or a new one with the 2.2 litre.
My question is this:- Which would be the most reliable type mechanically to buy
for extended remote area travel?
We are new to this forum, hopefully have put this in the correct part of the site. Looking forward to hearing about the strong and weak parts of the three types of Defender. Cheers, Kanga.

simpson desert, dunes, calling up on the UHF |

over the years i have read on a few forums including this one about the need to announce you are about to go up a sand dune so that vehicle coming the other way as aware...........
i'm starting to think these guys have never crossed the simpson.....when i did my crossing i didn't hear it once and considering the number of dunes you have to cross nobod in there right mind would call up on the UHF for any dune

Just washed,dried,waxed and buffed Zulu, our 2008 Defender and she looks really well. I thinking of doing the same to the Mrs. Now I am not naieve enough to expect the Mrs. to come out looking half as well as Zulu but it's bound to be some improvement. Now my question is, do I get the wife to shave her legs first? I'm just worried that if she does shave her legs, the stubble will get caught in the buffing cloth. Does anyone have any experience of this either way? All advice will be greatly... [Read More]

Want to borrow: TD5 ECU reader/writer for remap (Perth) |

Hi all,
I would like to purchase a tune/remap file for my defender. And as i understand it, i require a reader/writer to first send off my ECU file, so they can make it so it only works with my defender, and secondly so i can install it. Or the other option is that i send the whole ECU to them
