My drivers side tank had several holes about the size of match-heads along the front and back edges, just under the saddle. Got full of crud, and rusted away.

I just removes the saddle, cleaned the rust away from the tank, patched it with that fuel tank repair putty, you get from any servo, then gave the inside a go with the redkote. Looks like it did the trick.
