PE isn't a good option. Its too soft and not stable enough for use with air.
Use blue airline pipe and associated fittings, gettable from Hydraulink, Pirtek and any other hydraulic and pneumatic store.

Anyone plumbed up their air compressor in their shed using high pressure water poly pipe?
I want to run a line about 5 metres from the pump to an outlet, and don't really want to use galv pipe. I have got some 'green' high pressure jointing glue (as opposed to the normal blue glue).
The air compressor stats seem to indicate a max PSI of 150 PSI. Is this realistic/safe if I use Class 12 (?*) water pipe in 20mm size?
Is my only other alternative hard drawn copper?

* Not sure of the class, but I think it might be 12.... but maybe it is Class 18

Poly or PVC?
It's been done with both, but PVC will have a tendency to shatter into tiny fragments all over your workshop.
Blue line poly is a popular choice, but try and source some pn16 instead of the more common pn12.
Vinidex do a gold line for gas too, but was dear as poison from memory.
wouldnt it be cheaper and easier just to buy a roll of dedicated air hose of whatever diameter you want 1/4" to 5/8" and install using saddles and air fittings?

The link would not work for me.
Aaron.
I ran the 1/2" black poly with the blue line to a submersable bore pump that is operated by compressed air. About 800 yds of it with no problems.
Thanks for all the replies.
Just to clarify, the stuff I bought is the beige/white high pressure water pipe like you'd use in a house, not the black rural stuff.
SlugBurner - I'll go and take a look at that link.
Sounds like I need to get something more specialised.
D@rksid3: That PN16 poly pipe looks the go, as it takes up to 230PSI.
I am trying to keep the run in a reasonably big diameter for volume. If I was just using thin air line (10mm dia) I don't think it would travel the distance so well.
Also, all the fittings on the end of the compressor are like galv 1/2" water fittings.
I thought bigger diameter = lower pressure. Something to do with physics ?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
