    All good,
110s are often referred to as Counties in Australia as we never got SIII or Defender Counties here, and almost all the 110s were Counties.

The Australian army 110s are different in many ways to civilian 110s and were developed and built as part of Project Perentie (named after a large lizard), and are often referred to as "Perenties"

    P.S.
Not sure of the spelling. I assume the name County comes from the parcel of land, and the plural would be Counties not Countys.
Hopefully Ron or one of the other more learned will be along and help me out

In my 60+ years, I have never seen a 'Range Rover County' or a '110
    County'.

ex-Army 1988 110 - registered yesterday joining his civilian brothers early morning powerlines... wow what a glorious morning at 700am! (Pity about the powerline staunchion but that's what happens when you do a powerline track...). I think the 110 enjoyed the outing and showed he can mix it with the rest!

Bluey along for the ride as well..

    Bob,

Still haven't seen any. You gotta remember that us Yanks have got only
P38's and mk3's over here and maybe a couple of Disco's and Ejokes.
real square Landies are made of unobtainium.
Test drove a 1973 series(?), new from the dealer. wish I had bought it.
You blokes get all the good toys, along with the Brits.

    G'day Folks

Those Ex-Army 110's are commonly referred to as Perentie's the same as the bigger 6x6 's are, there are about 2500 to be sold off over the next 5 years or so, there is already one in S.A. That is owned by Ellard, which he got a couple of months ago,but it is a rather special one.

The 6x6's have the turbo Izusu 4BD1 motor while the 4x4's have the normally aspirated version, all with the LT95,4speed transmission well LT95A unit which is slightly strengthened.

    cheers

    G'day 42rangie

There are a lot more to come, and they were built in 1987/8 so that may allow you to import one, stripped down with canopy, frames and windscreen off it is only as high as the firewall posts, and that all packs in the rear body, they have discs up front and drum rear, and are standard coiler Land Rover except the Izusu donk, which came from the 4/6 ton truck.

Worth a thought, and there would possibly be some helpful person on here that could assist you.

    cheers

Thanks UH. (I hadn't used the Perentie title because I thought it only covered the 6wd version). This truck was in fantastic condition! $10K from my understanding.

Well Jamie is back on the road delivering his mates 110 'new' Perentie. I think he'll be heading down the Hume to Albury and then take some route across to Bordertown SA. The truck looks in good nick. If there are problems I've told him to ring me and I'll get AULRO community to help. Jamie's not a current Landy man - his grandfather had them on the farm.... but he doesn't have a clue about them... He's just the courier, But he's enjoyed some fun today. Give him a wave when you see him pass!
