During the week I bought a ticket on the Greyhound bus from Derby to Broome.

It was supposed to leave Derby at 5am today. It arrived very late - the clutch had failed as had the fron aur springs suspension - shades of a P38A.

They finally got going 2 hours late and got to Roebuck Roadhouse to be met by a replacement bus. We swapped to the new bus and would you believe it was faulty, too - the driver couldn't get any gears!

To make it worse I knocked back a free ride from the Derby Bus Company when it arrived (it normally leaves 1 hour later than the Greyhound) - I said I'd wait for the Greyhound.

To compound my stupidity in knocking back the Derby bus (which was empty) was that the Greyhound was full of smokers and many, umm, locals, who stank of BO (the pax didn't smoke on the bus but tthey all got off when it was stopped with problems and lit up like mad then got back on with their stinking breath).
