We need to have a comparison meeting at some stage. That way we can work out what little noises are standard on an 07 Defender. It's all so different, the starter motor sound, the shutdown sound, the various engine & gearbox sounds when cruising, or on overrun etc.

I agree - that would be a good idea - I freaked out at first when, after starting, the starter motor makes a "burp" sound - I'm guessing (hoping) that's normal
! Well - Austral said it was, which doesn't mean much.
