Alright...... just checked the bumper bar and it doesn't have holes where the winch brackets attach. Also had another look at the holes in the brackets. The 2 that bolt through the chassis are a little flogged out and are kinda bigger an sorta oval, while the front most 2 are round, suggesting to me that only the 2 rear ones where used, hence the odd shapes. Spacers may have been used but seeing as how rusty this vehicle is, I'd say they were long gone. Unfortunately we can't remember exactly how it was fitted and also I never took detailed photos while it was still on the vehicle.
One thing I did notice was that the mounting holes in the brush bar nearest the radiator have been welded up. The corresponding ones in the bumper are not. A bit odd methinks.
