Well... because i'm still at school (yr12) I can only go and work on my rover on the holidays which is why it has been such a long time since an update...
SO.. I'd like you to meet my friend PAIN - well that's what I have named my rover. Lets just say that there isn't much flesh left on my knuckles after this past week

Before getting into the good stuff I would like to take this time to say that whoever designed these trucks SHOULD BE SHOT. Talk about bolts that are near impossible to get a spanner too!!!!

. Grrrr bloody 38years or rusty bolts that have probably never been undone - hence the name Pain... anyway...
First I needed to get her running and armed with new points, condenser and coil I attacked the ignition problem (no spark) with great success. After replacing all the parts, new oil and top up water she roared into life with the first flick of the key

Not to bad for an engine that had not been run for a few years. And she ran like clockwork, I am glad to say there were no knocks, misfiring or weird noises in general. I didn't even clean the carby
see for yourself, the smoke cleared to a crystal clear exhaust after a few seconds (please excuse my foul mouthed younger brother at the very end of the vid)
YouTube - She finally runs
(if anyone knows how to embed the auctual youtube player into my post please show me, I forgot how

)
