After a bit of procrastinating, and doubting whether I could and armed with the wiring schematic, I decided to pull the wiring out of the ffr.
its a miss mash of bits, some rat chewed, looks like the instrument binacle had been removed by cutting the wires and another put in with straight wiring connectors, at least the colours are the same
anyway have laid it out on the floor and started unravelling the black insulation, ( photo later) it is all becoming more understandable, i have worked out where each one goes, based on the length, and where i think it should connect, then do a colour check to confirm, overall not such a hard job after all, it seems pretty simple, ( time will tell) only a couple of the rat chewed warning light wires need replacing. When i have it all sorted out i'll do a power check on each one. ( i think that what you do) before i put it back in.
The end result makes it a lot easier to do the rust holes.
On another note the lift hooks I got are on, ( thanks mick) made up a jig out of a bit of wood bolted it onto the fixing tabs and bolted the hooks on, then tacked each one into place, then finished off the welds.
