thanks Glen, you obviously almost had your finger removed by that demo at primex. ( BTW its Wild Wear and from Bunyips camping in their workwear range.)
Yes I thought about it at the time, while I was trying to get the stuff of my finger. The demo I saw was in the shed ( maybe he is the aulro bloke josh is talking about) But didn;t like the idea of having to cut it off. Probably ok for small jobs but i wouldn;t use it on a long loom, maybe better on short lengths. I will stick with the non adhesive loom tape thats on it ( thats if I can get it).
Yesterday i laid it all out on the floor of the flat, ( its handing having another residence, close to the shed, and the mrs doesn;t comment on what I am doing)
anyway i fiddled , bent poked made diagrams, refered to the schematic, checked my box of wires, cut and shunted a few connections soldered others( forgot i didn;t have heatshrink) did a side by side changeover with another dash i had, worked a few wires out, and all I have to do now is replaced a couple of rat chewed wires on the ign and oil press lights and its done ready to be rewrapped.
I checked the continuity( is that the right word) for a couple of the switches and they worked,
had to go back and forth into the shed to get and check the other bits of the loom I had left in there and nearly stepped on this bugger, he was out early. Normally travells through during the night, the dog kennel is used for landy bits now!!
its getting wild kingdon time again, our one eared koala was back the other afternoon sitting in the front yard.
forgot to ask and didn't get a photo of it but there is a blue round thing coming off the back of the regulated supply( 10V) box on the back of the speedo it goes to earth does anyone know what it is and what it does?
