I did my own wiring on the S2A station wagon - with a good wiing diagram to refer to, it is not difficult. However I think that, particularly behind the instrument panel, the use of cable ties is a very good idea, until you are sure that everything is as you want it.

Once you are happy with the setup, it is easy then to convert to the spiral wrap, or leave it as it is. There isn't much room behind the instrument panel, once all the wires are in place and additional spiral wrap will add to the congestion.
