what sort of price range am i looking at to have either...

a) just the 2 studs replaced, with manifold being taken on/off by the shop.
b)as above, but with the manifold being refaced.

thanks.
Hi Simon,

DEFINATELY machine it. The reason it has broken the studs is due to a fair amount of distortion. There are threads (Pardon the pun...)on here about modding the manifold to stop this. Replace all the studs,( some even drill out and increase the diameter of the studs also, but to date we have mever had to re do one or had any cause to do this, chipped and non chipped both suffer)

Depending onb hourly rates, it is about a 1 to 2 hour job. We get a stud/ thread repair mobile specialist to remove/ repair, refit the studs, and this beats removing the head!!!
Machining manifold can be a $$ depends on where you take it, as they charge for time to set up and then how many passes it requires to get it straight.

Hope this helps,

JC
