I could well be corrected as it was before my time, but I don't think the Australian Army ever used these weapons in large quantities. There were some in country but only for trial purposes, maybe. We went towards the US and purchased the 106 RCL - a simpler and lighter weapon, I think.

I suspect there would have been little use for these weapons in Malaya.

The rims pictured, resemble the Jeep wheel in that they seem capable of disassembly.
