I had a dream, it was more like a nightmare

    I've had impure thoughts ..

    That I bought a Nissan Patrool 3.0TD

Will I need ask for forgiveness ( Repent )

On that Note I am still thinking about Nissan GQ Diffs on the Rear of Rangie with factory diff locks.

A mate of mine sold his Tdi Defender and bought a stock as TD42 GU
He reckons its a gutless heap of poo compared to the 2.5 Tdi
He reckons the Tdi would run rings around the big pile of jap crap
No he is not impressed with performance and ride , but he loves the elbow and leg room in the cab

Many's the time that pick up my gf and her 2 girls plus bits and pieces and say "I should have bought the Patrol" - It was a very nicely kept GU TD42T "Walkabout", but was about 8 grand more than I wanted to spend...but, oh, the room!

I know my Tdi D1 is faster taking off than the work 4.2 turbo intercooled patrol ute. I was only taking off with about half throttle into a 100 zone and the patrol was flat chat and i was pulling away. The 3 inch exhaust changes them a lot and makes them a closer match to the D1.

IF I wanted a bigger vehicle, then a TD42T 04 or so age Patrol would be in the driveway.

BUT, they are characterless and I would die of boredom driving it.

SO, I'm keeping the Rangie/s and watching the patrols rust away around me..and the 3.0l ones melt pistons...

Still, shorty only paid $5k for his, a good buy it was too for an accessorised 4.2diesel LWB.

If you HAVE to get one, get a 4.2 diesel one. You can't break them with a big stick, as long as you keep the bodies from falling apart
