    Defender door drains

    Hi all,

I have recently acquired a 1992 soft top defender 110 and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice.

It has been converted from a hard top to a soft top and is missing the parts (drains?) that go around the door/window to seal the canvas. The doors have also been changed to the safari style doors and I'm not sure if they are from a series 2 or 3. My question is, will the door drains fit with these doors if I get some? At the moment it looks as though the door closes too much to fit a bracket there. I suspect that because of where the mirrors have been mounted, to the top door hinge, it may have put the alignment of the door out. My second question, does anyone know where I could find the brackets, they seem to be pretty hard to get hold of. Would be great if someone could help, I'm sick of driving around with cold air blowing in!

    Regards, Josh

    G'day Josh,

I had a hell of a time trying to find parts in Aus when I went through this same process some years back. I ended up going overseas for it. I suggest you try All Wheel Trim in the UK. I found Kim to be a great bloke to deal with.

There should be plenty of those bits from Perentie wrecks around the place.

Thanks for that, I'll check them out. I did see them when I did an internet search but didn't know how good they were.

Perentie wrecks...I'll look into that too, haven't seen any around, I know there's no wreckers up here (FNQ) who carry those sort of parts so I might try down south.

Thanks for the info, hopefully I can find what I'm looking for!
