I did a conversion. Put A 2000MY TD5 In a Disco 1. I left the clutch switch out of the picture completely disconnected at the recomendation of some comp guys I know in the UK.
I'd have to say that the experience was indeed thrilling to say the least. I could smoke the tires (32") through third gear during shifts (I'm at 5000 feet elevation)
Needless to say Drivability wasn't what I'd hoped for and the now the clutch switch is now connected. For this year engine the clutch switch connects with ground when the clutch is depressed. This action decreases fueling and makes the shifts a bit more civilized.
