    Solar regulator charge profile

My solar charge regulator has a number of charge profiles for different types of lead and LiFePo batteries. For lead batteries you can select:

GEL (14.3V bulk charge, 13.8V trickle charge)
    AGM1 (14.4V bulk charge, 13.45 trickle charge)
    AGM2 (14.7V bulk charge, 13.5 trickle charge)

I have D4 SDV6 with a factory AGM cranking battery and an Optima yellow top as a secondary battery which I believe is an AGM battery as well.

Which of the above charging profiles is best for my combination of batteries.

pick the one suited to the LOWEST-max-charging-voltage of your batts,,

the trouble with mixing battery types

Do the D4's use an AGM for cranking??

Yeah, D4's use AGM batteries for cranking.

Were originally supplied with conventional batteries for cranking but many failed after only a few months service, mine included. The dealers replaced them under warranty with AGM batteries for better performance. These batteries are essentially unmarked. They have an Exide brand name on them but the 'model number' corresponds to nothing Exide make and I assume is instead a Landrover part number.

I don't know the max charging voltage for these cranking batteries but I guess I'll just choose 'AGM1' to be on the safe side. Wondering whether the difference between the AGM modes even matters.
