I've thought about this before. you could always make the kitchen unit lift out and down on cantilevered arms with gas struts.

sorry to take so long to get back to you with the weight etc, I can't work out a way to weigh them, but my wife and I can just lift it off the ute with a great deal of trouble and two men can lift it on the ute with a lot of trouble. It would be near impossible to attach a removing device without major modifications. IMHO it was a good thought but probably would not suit your needs as it would require enough modification that would would be easier to build something from scratch, but if you are still interested I will measure and talk about a price but I think we are thinking about $1000ish (we really have no idea what they are worth) PS I am folowing with great interest as to what you come up with, as I think this will be a good option for us when the kids think it is not cool to sleep in the van anymore |
