Any thing under 14/100 is still good I think if you have more usable Power and torque with it

Well ... I got excited about getting my yellow Gen 111 injectors ... and am posting the results
Injectors are 2cnd hand / NOT sonic cleaned /New seals / payed $127 Australian for it (on my door)
The basis of the ride is as follows
RRC 90 / 3.9 V8 / Fresh cam chain / Good healthy motor / Good oil pressure / running standard 29" tyres / Motor temp sensor fixed at 260 Ohms
Took the car on a drive down the Highway ... Maintained 1980 Rpm @ 105 kph
A fuel station is located at the entrance to the highway .... Filled up the tank to the Brim
Did 50 k's South .. Then turned around and did 50 ks back & then filled up the tank to the brim
So the clock read ....
The old black injectors recorded a whopping
13 litres for a 99k drive .... I was expecting 14 litres ... as this is what I was getting 2 months ago
Anyway .... Got the plentium cap off
Had to take off the bottom plentium body ... Remember to pressurise the injectors with the fuel pump before you reassemble the plentium chambers ... so that if any fuel leaks happen ... then you have a chance to fix it
Rotten steel bolts in Aluminium .... Frozen and broke a bolt like a twig
AND THEN went for a repeat of the 99k drive
and got this result
What the heck .... IT used more .... A whopping 13.68 litres for a 99k drive
VERDIC so far is this
Fuel economy ... No difference
Motor idle .... Smoother
Motor power .... Stronger / Livelier
Value for money ... Nice choice for replacements ... But the old injectors work just as well

Your surprised, 13 liters on the old black tops blew me away!!! ... My point of view is that I have manage to get this motor from 20 litres per hundred .. to 13 is outstanding ... AND the injectors are 300tho k old ... well beyond what I would have considered it's use-by date
The day of test was .... Flat ground rolling road ... No breeze / cool day 25c
I did a "0 to 100 test" and got 11 1/2 seconds (sub 12) ... yet to repeat it on the Gen 111 ... But will later
Yea thats what I ment. Suprised how good on fuel. Under 14 is better than some oilers around that vintage and newer.

Just finished installing mine tonite.
Off the boot, BIIIIIIIIIGGGGGG difference driveability wise!!!
Power is definitely up, smoothness is humungously better, idle is much smoother, responsiveness is up, overrich fuel smell at idle is down, exhaust note is differentat 3000-4000 rpm but due to my new found joys, fuel economy will be down for a bit until the happiness recedes in my shorts!!

Think a full tank run would be a better gauge of results.
The best run I have had on an unloaded country trip was 16.65l/100km, my normal round town figure has for quite some time been between 19.7 - 20.8l/100km based on figures i have been putting into the "Fuel Gauge" app on my iPhone. Most of this is the morning work crawl I have to do of about 30k's each way everyday.
Will probably demolish the best part of this tank but will start putting up some results.
As Rangier said too, if its only up that minimally but power etc is significantly up, its not such a bad thing.
The one way to make it even better is to install oxy sensors which will most likely be the next major thing on my list to do.

Maybe I missed earlier threads, but this is all news to me.
Now I have something else to do!
As I said earlier , I expect that you will have more smoothness with the Gen111s as I had with the Gen11's but won't see much in economy.
Remember you are comparing against OLD Lucas injectors which may drool, be partially blocked etc etc.
BUT it highlights that injectors are wear items and maybe should be changed at maybe 160KK, especially if the ECU does not have o2 sensors and self correction for injector flow changes.

There is a definite power increase & the motor is very lively ... I have put a 2 core wire with a switch in parallel with the motor temp sensor ... On the 2 core wire I soldered in a 300 Ohm resistor ... So now I start the motor with the switch off (gives me the Cold start Ohms off the Temp sensor) ... then flick the switch to the resisted wire ... which measured 260Ohms at the ECU plug .... I "think" this is telling the ECU to lean the fuel flow // Hence my economy was below 14L / 100 on the Lucus black tops

They are just Commodore Chev Gen III injectors? Straight bolt in fitment?
BOSCH Gen III not CHEV GenIII!!
I was down at Jordan Rovertech Sat morning picking up a new window reg.
Kev let me upstairs for a "search and destroy" mission. I did fins a lovely looking manifold with vaguely familiar looking Bosch injectors in green which would have been from a Motronic system.
Dimensionally these are the same, even the tips were the same style, but not sure if they are GenII or III and I didnt get the number off them.
As I have to go back there to drop some coin in, will get the numbers off them. I have a cross ref here that gives me the Gen # of them.
Hope they arent in a way, as I could have got them easier locally and they would have been almost application specific...
Just a point of note, mine were flowed at 42psi and all came in at 208cc/m running Heptane fluid. Run the pressure back to std 36psi and the 195cc as per LR specs for the Lucas would about balance out.
