Hey Cambo, my wish list for the moment on MY16 RRS is:

    1. Add memory seats to 14 way electric seats to get reverse dipping mirrors. Trying to find out what is needed hardware wise, def need the switch pack for the door and new facia, possibly new loom to door, possibly new Contol Unit, update CCF?
    2. heated seats==> heat pads?? loom?? what else.
    3. InControl Apps would be nice but no biggie
    4. 4x4 info (no dual range xfer box)

The only one I really want is the memory seats. With number of adjustments available, it takes me ages to get it back to the position I like after somebody stuffs around with it. What do you recommend as a course of action for this one?

Yet to get one but not sure how capable the IIDTool is with RRS2 and whether or not any CCF changes are possible....i'll have to shoot them an email.
    Cheers,

    Sean

Tried a faster "double-click" which made no difference, just headlights on and then off again.

    Thoughts?

Maybe it's not possible on a MY14 D4? I know it works on Evoque and MY13 onward Freelander 2...

There are often fields in the CCF which are already "enabled" but that option doesn't actually do anything.

    Short answer, I don't know...

The memory seat retrofit has been done in a Jag XF. Actually in that car it was just a matter of adding the memory module to the seat, and the switches, all the wiring was already present, and no changes were needed to the CCF it just worked when everything was connected. Maybe with a 2016 L494 some CCF changes might be needed, not sure haven't played with one of those yet. One thing with the XF was you needed the specific memory module for the seat type, if it was 8-way, 12-way, etc...

    In the Freelander we needed;
    - Heater pads
    - Heated seat modules
    - Wiring looms from the seat loom to the heated seat modules
    - HVAC module / climate panel (to add the switches)
    - Editing the CCF
    - Reflashing the HVAC module to get the heated seat modules active on the LIN network

I haven't looked specifically at the L494 yet but i guess similar things...

This is quite a complex job, still haven't finished it. Might be easier in a model that actually had InControl Apps as an option from the factory. So far it's a TIM module, new panel where the USB port is (to add the 2nd USB socket for the phone), a heap of wiring, and some CCF changes.

I would have thought the 4x4 info would be possible regardless of which transfer box. On the earlier cars it was (as far as I know).

Have not used an IID so can't help you with that, sorry!

Out of interest, what diagnostic tool do you use Cambo? Sounds like you have access to something quite comprehensive.

I've got a bit of a collection actually...

WDS for old Jags and Astons pre-2006
T4 Mobile+ for older Land Rovers pre-2006 (& MG Rover)
VCM with IDS for Jags up to 2009 & LR's from 2006-2009
VCM with SDD for the newer Jags & LR's
I also have a VMM for the electrical side of things with IDS/SDD
And some other non-JLR systems too...

I'd have to look into this for a 2014 D4 specifically...
I have had actually had an initial look at this (for my MY14) and the parts are pretty pricey.
Just the sensor modules - LR051009, LR051010 - alone are around $700 (from the UK), excluding freight. That's each, one for the left and one for the right! Haven't looked into the mirrors yet...

Seems to be a known issue for MY14/15 D4.
Have asked on Disco3 if anyone has figured it out.
What a weird thing to change or turn-off or miss for one model

    Cambo 351,

Have you ever heard of someone retrofitting TPMS and Wading Sensors on a 2015 HSE 3.0 SDV6 Discovery?

    Thanks in advance,

    Disco Panda.

Doesn't make sense does it... but i've come across a few weird things with JLR vehicles that make no sense, so ???

Paying full price for new parts will kill just about any retrofit project. I've always scavenged parts secondhand mostly from the UK and US, otherwise it's just not economical. Small items tend to be cheaper new but big stuff not... The one time I bought a big-ticket item brand new (an audio amplifier for 800-odd Pounds) it was a dud straight out of the box anyhow so I sent it back and replaced it with a used one for $400 instead...

If you have the LR part number I can cross-check them if there is a Jaguar equivalent and de-code the "engineering" part number which is what most ebay sellers list their parts with. The part number on the label, not the catalogue part number e.g. LR045327 = BJ32-19C164-BG = C2D30272

A lot of parts like electronic modules are shared between Jaguar and Land Rover, and even the new prices are out of whack. Same part ordered with Land Rover part number is double the price of the Jaguar one. Or the Jaguar one is three times the price of the Land Rover one, or the Volvo part is half the price of the Land Rover one...

Have not done it myself (yet) but for sure it's possible.

Have done the TPMS on a 2015MY Freelander 2, all the wiring was already in place, just missing the sensors in the wheels and the antennas in the wheel arches. The story i've been told is that since the EU has now required all vehicles to have TPMS since 2014, and the US market also requires TPMS then LR have standardised that all new vehicles have the wiring in place. This was the case with the Freelander, others have checked Discos but couldn't find the wiring. I haven't had the chance to check a new one myself, but this is the story i've been told.

The wading sensors will probably be spendy to get the parts new, but it's certainly possible to do it.

Thanks to a great deal of assistance from Cambo351, I recently installed TPMS, Premium sound and DAB+ to my MY16 D4.

I'd highly recommend doing all of these upgrades. The quality of sound the DAB+ and Premium audio output is day and night difference compared to the standard Meridian system.

So with the TPMS was the wiring in place like the FL2 that Cambo did? Do you have a shopping list of parts required?
