    Question D3 Phone Kit

    Hi all.

My apologies if this has been asked before. I did a search and couldn't find an answer....

I have just bought an 09 D3 SE, and realise that it has no handsfree phone kit installed. It has the 6 disc stacker with the 'phone' button on the right hand side, but no buttons on the steering wheel, and when you press the 'phone' button, the screen on the stereo says 'no phone installed'. Is it possible to install the factory bluetooth kit? Does the factory kit sync OK with the iPhone4? If so, has anyone here done it and at what cost? Maybe I'd be better off with an aftermarket kit??

    Thanks
    Steve

The Parrot MKi 9200 might help

I went down the same route and do not think you can get the bluetooth loom post factory installed. Ended up with a Parrot MKi9200 installed which is pretty good, but not perfect with the iPhone4 (very very minor things). Just make sure you read the instructions on getting the software updated as soon as installed.

I installed a Nokia bluetooth kit but could never figure out how to mute the radio.

The HSE D3 we recently purchased also has the talk button on the L/H/S of the steering wheel as well as the other buttons on the dash, is this likely to mean it does have the factory phone kit already installed?

I had the household electronics expert (the wife who loves reading manuals which I don't) try to sort it out but even she can't make head nor tail of it.

I don't know it this helps but this D3 also has the Hi ICE logic 7 stereo system or what ever it is called fitted?

    cheers,
    Terry

    Hi all,
If the Green/Red buttons for the phone are not installed on the R/H/S of the steering wheel then the vehicle does NOT have the phone kit.
The stereo's have this phone button as part of the unit regardless whether you have the phone or not.

Yes you can install the factory bluetooth kit, but it is pricey just for a bluetooth kit, fitted around the $1600.00 mark.

    Cheers

    Yikes!

An aftermarket kit is looking pretty good then! Any suggestions as to a good brand/model? I need it to pair with an iPhone 4.....

Parrot MKi9200 is made for the iPhone & has cables specifically for charging & connecting. It is a pretty good kit, but just depends on if you just want to have a phone connection or something a little bit better.

    Hi Sniegy,

Quick question on this - is there a new steering wheel included in the dash at that price or is it just the kit???

    Cheers

Could you please post some pics of your install? Also how do you activate the unit ie. do you use the phone button on the radio?
    Thanks
