D4 Options - Can Touch Screen be Separate from SatNav?

I have a D4 3.0 SE on order (from Dec 09), and prior to ordering I had noticed the touchscreen (+ iPod connectivity) on the sound system was a $560 option in the catalogue. I rang the dealer (another person as my salesperson was on holiday) and asked if it needed to be ordered separately and he told me it was included.

My car isn't due to be delivered until April 2010.

Yesterday I went to the dealership to have a look around and noticed there were some non touchscreen SEs there on demo, and these didn't have the USB & iPod connectors.

I have since asked my salesman and he confirmed that no touchscreen was included. And indeed it is only possible to order the touchscreen option in conjunction with the SatNav, which brings the total to >$5000.

I just wanted to see if anyone out there knows whether it is indeed impossible to order touchscreen option separate from the SatNav option?

P.S. I know it's a bit late now as it probably needs to be factory fitted, and mine is already on the boat on the way here...

I have been looking at D4s for the last couple of months and I have been told by two dealers that it is not possible to order the touchscreen without the sat nav, I was hoping to just option the touchscreen.

Wait for later models they will probably have it included.

Or BBS will have theirs for the D4 so you can enable it yourself.

Thanks! Who is BBS? Do they have a website I can look at?

Also, GraemeS has replied to my post on Disco3 UK to confirm that they are inseperable.

Yes, indeed they are. What's more, when I ordered mine I badly wanted the top range sound system and i-Pod connectivity (with two teenage daughters this was considered an essential item!) - so had to grit my teeth and fork out for the sat-nav / touchscreen to get them. Now I'm hanging out for someone to figure a way to load some decent topo maps onto the thing, to make it pay for itself. I suspect BBS might be onto this at some point - or am I just being hopeful? To be fair though, the fancy Harmon-Kardon system is quite outstanding, and I have thoroughly enjoyed revisiting all my old Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straights, Rolling Stones et al material...

Thanks JesseB. Hah hah - with your music collection I bet your teenage daughters might be wishing you hadn't spent the $5K?

Or maybe optioned up for the HSE with the separate music channels...

Cheers!

Yes, there have been times when I have wished for the separate music channels! But let's just say the process of education and music appreciation works in both directions...

And in the end, I control the volume buttons!

My whole music library fits on 1 MP3 CD and the base model HK is more than enough for my aging eardrums, so even no need to use the aux input. A $300 cheapie 7" street nav & Ozi screen sits in front of the little LR screen so I'm like a pig in mud.
