    After market mud flaps

Well, after getting nicely bogged, then unsuccessfully snatched from the front resulting in Outlaw peeling a tyre off the rim, then successfully snatched from the rear up a very steep hill, I found I'd lost most of the RHS flap and finally broke through the last bit of the LHS.

So Gents, what are the after market options for mud flaps?

You can see Outlaw's truck in the distance with the RH rear off the rim. The problem with the front snatch was that the only way forward was up a very steep hill (seen just above the RHS side of the D3), which Josh tried with no luck. The alternative was a diagonal snatch with the subsequent outcome.

Why do you want 'flaps ?

Most new vehicles sold here don't have flaps.

I tow a van and rear flaps helps keep the stones off the van, front ones are essential on gravell roads to help stop chipping the paintwork and even with them my rear black wheel arch moldings are badly pockmarked.

I want to try making them out of conveyor belting as I did for my 93 LSE rangie. The trick will be to make a mounting bracket.

    Hope this helps,

    Ryall

I cut the originals and added a bit if insertion rubber for flexibility.
What was left of the original keeps the rubber in the right spot so it doesn't bend back.

Because no rear mudflaps is a defect. Required for wet weather spray control.

I was following a D3 today which had no mud flaps, looked rather peculiar.

If you ever got behind a 4x4 with no mudflaps, you quickly realize how much road material (rocks etc) they can throw up. Mud flaps protect others and also in my case stone chipping of the rear panel work and Kaymar bar.

Let us know how long they last.

    Cheaper than expected?
