    Rear (Tailgate)door rattles

The rear tailgate door has developed a rattle when going over bumps. The hinges look ok, but it seems to be at the striker end. Are these adjustable?
It also seems that the top and bottom of the left hand side is not sealing properly

Try tightening the screws that hold the lock mechanism into the door (#3 phillips - these had come loose on mine), also doesn't hurt to check the striker plate and receiver screws. The rod (with the allen key centre) that the lock clicks over may have come adrift or moved also. Good luck.

I've had a similar noise over the years which I thought was the tailgate. after several complaints to Landrover under warranty and at regular servicing it was found that the roof supports (Between the roof and the lining) is probably loose and is causing the sound over bumps/potholes. To this day I have put up with the noise as I couldn't be bothered fixing it as it involved removing the roof lining. Alas, now the roof lining is sagging and needs some TLC so will look out for this noise whilst the lining is off the vehicle.

I first changed the Weatherstrip for a genuine one, later changed the plastic block. None of the changes were the solution.
I noticed that the plate fixed in the frame had its "wings" with a little bit wear, and slightly bent. So I used my big french wrench to bent back a little bit this "wings" and the rattle disappeared.
    Very easy and cheap solution.

I had a lay with the lock striker pin, there was some wear on the contact areas. I loosened the pin and re positioned it slightly, also the other contact points and it appears to have stopped the rattle so far. All screws were tight, it might just be too much driving on corrugated roads causes some movement of parts resulting in enough to cause a rattle.

Funny how noise travels, I replaced the rear A frame ball joint thinking it was the problem. Then I had a noise rattle under the drivers seat area, so I checked the transfer mounting, then the noise also seemed to come from the drivers door so I checked that, then the rear drivers side seat, so I checked the locking mech of the seat. Then it appeared to come from the rear passenger door window frame.
It has been driving me nuts as I could hear it ( even though I have a hearing deficiency).
Now all these noises are gone since playing with the rear door

For what its worth, there's another funny rattle in the back which I tracked down some time ago. When you have the rear seats folded forward - which I do for work a lot - there was an annoying clacking / rattle over bumps. I found the pivot points (seat back to base) of the rear seats are metal to metal (maybe they didn't begin life that way). With no load they were able to move from side to side. I took out the pivot screws and inserted a nylon washer between the back pivot arm and the base and it fixed that noise.
