Yes you need to undo the brackets that hold the tanks to the cradle and then rotate them to remove them

I am trying to remove the 2 gas tanks, in a cradle , between the rear cargo area floor. The ones between the chassis rails, so I can have them tested and revalved for RWC
Geez she's a tight fit
First thing done was to isolate the battery. I am a gas fitter and I know that gas and sparks do not get on well together
The first and most important question is about venting any remaining gas out of them. I ran them down until she backfired and appeared to be out of gas
should there be shut off/isolation valves on top of the cylinders , that I can shut , after I drop them down enough to reach in or
do I just crack a fitting back near the tanks and slowly vent the vapour, bearing in mind that cracking it too far open will result in Liquid gas being emitted

I have undone all the bolts and am close to being able to drop them ( carefully ) out.
It seems to me as if the valve assemble guards foul the chassis rail and I will have to rotate the tanks inwards for them to drop out.
It looks like they were rotated after being installed so they fit under the rear floor. I have completely undone the cradle and will work out a way of getting a strap around them and rotating

All LPG tanks installed since 1994 should have electric shut off valves fitted to the tanks. Therefore just switching off the gas should isolate the cylinders. If you have run the gas down to the point where there's no power there will be very little, if any liquid in them. The best way to check that the tanks are indeed switched off just loosen the line to the main gas lock under the bonnet. If it stops hissing within a minute your gas line is empty and the tanks are safe to remove. There are manual shut off valves within the guard boxes as well if you need to manually isolate them. As for rotating the tanks, once the straps are loose the tanks should rotate fairly easily. Access to the top of the tanks can be made through the hatch in the middle of the load area floor, under the carpet.
Oh and finally, there's absolutely nothing "scuba" about LPG tanks, they are just small tanks.
Probably got their name as they resemble a pair of scuba tanks.

Beeute. The power has been disconnected and the battery is isolated. They are dated 21:03:96.
I will do the under bonnet disconnect and see how long it expels gas for.
I only call them scuba tanks because someone told me that is what they're called but as our resident Gas man , I will defer to you
Thanks for the tip on the rear area access hatch
Problem is , I've got the bloody tow bar tied up to the spare wheel and another rope holding up the back of the tanks so they don't drop right out
Will just have to reorganise maybe
Can I ask. If I take them somewhere to be tested , revalved and stamped, what should that cost please
