    Look for a short in the wire,perhaps even replace the sender to start with.If its anything like a D2,there will be a separate gearbox cooler in with the radiator/intercooler assembly.
    I'm sure some of the D1 brains trust will be along soon.

    Hope so but worried now, did some research on the p38 cooler might be a time for an upgrade.

    As Andrew said, if it is an Auto and you do a lot of towing, or off-road work in High range 4wd, use top gear (3) instead of overdrive (4), also might be time for a filter and trans oil change, Regards Frank.
    P.S. I have the 8 core trans oil cooler off a later model Disco 2, I do a fair bit of off recovery/towing and haven't had a problem since fitting the bigger cooler, will post some pics if I can find them.

    Yea it's an auto. Had a look under it today looks like the cooler lines have a leak also so they need to be changed out, did you have to do any modifications to get that cooler in mate?

    Also I'm pretty sure the ac cooler radiator thing and fans are in front of my radiator so not sure where to mount it.

    Another option is to add another cooler ( in my case, I used a manual cooler off a V8 parts car I have) and plumb it inline with the existing
