D1 models

Hi,

Does anyone know if the D1 came out in an ES model that was a diesel, or were all the ES models V8? Also does the SE7 model come in a diesel?

According to Redbook:

1995 on Land Rover Discovery ES (Apr)

Only came in Tdi Auto

I wouldn't imagine there would be too many around. Are you planning a project?

Hope this helps,

Stu

Yes the SE7 does come out in Diesel. I have an 1996 TDI SE7 Manual

Cheers

No project Stu, just trying to convince the Mrs to get a Disco. I have a 96 V8 but would want to get a diesel if we got another one.

Does your SE7 have cruise and a sunroof?

I'm sure I looked at a 96 ES V8 auto Disco when I bought mine. It had all the woodgrain, leather everything, twin sunroofs etc. Also had rear air locker, sliders and the rustiest alpine window surrounds ever but don't think they were factory

I don't think any Aussie diesel Disco1s had factory cruise control. Just my observation.
Although there was a post on how to retrofit it on here not so long ago. Pretty sure it was for a 300Tdi Disco1.

I think it goes from bottom to top of the range

S
SE
SE7
ES

So your SE does not compare to an ES.
I have the S equivalent with with cruise control but in 1994 they didn't use those designations. Mine doesn't have any model badges other than V8i.

Just had a look myself and the LS is either a step up from the ES or the ES was renamed the LS in the later Disco1. I'm not sure.

Also lets not forget the Rossignol. I don't know what that was other than a 3 door V8 only model.

My 1997 TDi Manual is according to the Owners handbook an "SE Plus" .
It's an SE base spec but has leather, woodgrain trim, and a single sunroof. I have never seen another one like it.
