Red face small banging noise in D1 cabin

OK so as times I can worry a bit too much,

While having fun in the Blue Mountains State forest I kept hearing a small plastic banging sound by the drivers pedals. It only happened when we went over a rough patch and was worst the more the car bounced.

I pulled over a couple of times and wobbled panels, pedals and any thing else I could get my hands on, no joy.

The banging continued and I was torn between watching where I was going and trying to see/hear where the sound was coming from.

After lunch we started to climb back up the valley we had been going down. The banging had stopped.

Then on a short decent the banging started again. I said to the others that I was going to do that section again and find out what the noise was.

On the way up no noise, on the way back down again while I twisted my head to and fro to try to locate the noise, what do I see. The remote locking unit swinging on the key, merrily smacking itself against the dash, bang, bang, bang.

I had the exact thing happen to me. Was looking for this plastic clunking for ages. Ended up being the new keyring taping away on the steering column.

had the same noise it ended up being a relay in behind the kick panel near the pedals hanging from wires tapping the firewall
found it by accident

Now mine has rattles everywhere due to modified modifications
