Gearbox out - what else needs doing

Hi all, my gearbox decided it was time to get replaced with the auto transmission I have itn the shed - a few of the clutch springs broke, and the plastic thing on the end of the forks had worn away.

Anyway, after a major battle getting the nuts off the gearbox to engine stud ( DPO must had used a rattle gun and spun a few of the nuts round) the gearbox is on the ground, as are both axles and now for a whole lot of re-building:

Tru-trac front and rear diff centre into the new ( <70,000km) axles, auto transmission, transfer case, new shocks, bushes, brake lines and rear ball joint.

What esle should I fix - is the rear engine seal worth doing? It's not leaking - the back of the flywheel was a bit rusty even.

Anyone got any suggestions what I should be replacing whilst everything is in pieces?

In addition, which shocks should I bet getting - I have a 2" ( proper 50mm not 30mm like some 2" lift give) - should I buy the Koni's or Bilsteins - from what I have read, the Koni's may be a bit short but I want a reasonsble ride which some say the BIlsteins are a bit harsh - are there alternatives in the Koni's that are longer - eg Landcruiser or Patrol shocks?

Thanks

Iain

My gearbox is out at the moment, the clutch kit arrived last week and we are going to replace the rearmain while it's out (evan though it's not leaking).
Today i cleaned up the flywheel with some fine wetndry sand paper, it came up great, it would pay to check for any cracks in it.

No problem, fire away. I think have everything - will soon find out.

Any tips on replacing the rear main oil seal - or is it just and un-bolt and re-bolt job?
