    Bosch Alternater in 300 TDi

Well I killed another ALT last week,

so I bit the bullet and got a bosch unit, 120amp.
I was not going to buy another MM ALT or the cheap nock offs,
    ($430) that are only 70amp's.
So with an old front mount and water pump,

I made up the brackets over the week end.

And it all fits in using the 300 multi rib belt.
Now to take it off and make the brackets out of thicker metal and fix a couple of holes that are not aligned.

    I hate inserting photos

i was looking on ebay you can get a 200 A alternator for an escalade for about 250 usd. i was thinking that would be sweet for winching. its not as tricky for me to fit because im a machinist, but i dont know how well it will bolt up yet.

    Good stuff
    Just a thought.
A while ago, a auto electrician has told me not to upgrade to a bigger one than actually needed because the more the amps they produce the more the heat they produce and the shorter their life span.
It made sense and went for what he recommended and not just had in stock or did highest amp out-put but what did the job for my application.

    Just a thought.
