Well, I see you've met DB - again
As to your Disco, there are a fair few wreckers around that will have a 2nd hand glovebox or whatever it is that broke. A pic or more information might be a good idea.
I know I wasn't very helpful...in fact I haven't been lately
Just detest the "If it brakes I'm go back to a Toyota"......people that say that at a drop of a hat shouldn't of brought a landy in the first place.
Matty...Have you been out off road in this car yet? If you havn't you need to hook up with joker etc....then you will realise why us landy owners put up with these quirks of little annoying things going wrong.
Mate my car has probably cost me nearly 3000 in the last 2.5 months and I haven't really had anything major go wrong...just bloody niggly things I wanted fixed before they turn into dramas..
I think with a dicky speedo and a broken glove box your doing alright
good thing about landies are they are pretty much mechano sets so like langy says you can pretty much pick parts up to fix these sorts of things quite easily

sorry mate i didnt explain it too well i was more so thinking of putting a match it lolol
but yeah if you unbolted the glove box 46-7mm nuts hold it on and pull it out in side theres a metal bracket the holds the glove box light and the catch for the glove box hook thingy itself, the metal bracket has like slots to which plastic glue comes through to hold it in place , i cant replace it without replacing the whole dash witch im not going to do
what i shall do is get a photo of it the bracket and post it here in 10mins
mate honestly i never had a prob with the GQ patrol sept when i went tooo hard with a full load bent all the steering gear to which i replaced never had a prob again with her
the disco is a 1995 v8i 3.9L with 276000 on the clock with gas to which i wish it near had as it blows up at the stupist times, she was good to start with be all these probs coming out ay im not prepair to spend $$$$$$ on stuff, i want a car to last while i dont hard 4x4 any more just more driving or touring
heres a link to the photo
in the photo my finger points to the slots to which the plastic glue was place and pressed to the back of the dash baord
as the item sit if you were in the passenger seat it faces you pressed up into the dash
cheers guys

mmmmm so why can't you just glue it back in?
is there no way of fabing a bracket so you can bolt it back in with rivnuts or something?...there would surely be something you can do! I find it hard to believe you would need a new dash..perhaps just a little imagination.
Still I will watch with interest......see if anyone has solutions to your problem![]()

It's a fairly common problem & there has been a fix or two done on here over the years.
Try a search under 'glovebox' first but I think gluing it somehow is the fix.
I think LR even released a bulletin for this too - I'll have a dig around.
Scott
The bulletin states to screw the bracket back in place.
PM me an email address if you'd like a copy.
