Aircon / Heater Possible Fan Prob...

    Hi All...

Haven't been particularly active on this site lately, so here we area again...

Had a prob with my Ser1 Update Disco.

Problem: The Aircon / Heater doesn't blow air on fan settings 0,1,2,3 (obviously not 0 - but for the sake of clarity). However, it does work on setting 4.

    Additional Info -
Aircon button works (ie light comes on, blows cold air)
I tried replacing the fan switch today with a 2nd hand spare, but to no avail (I'm open to the suggestion that both switches are dudded, but it's unlikely)
When turned from 0 - 1, aircon clutch engages - so i think its Blower related rather than aircon etc.

So, is it a common problem for the Blower motor to die??

If so, why does the aircon / heater work on setting 4 but not 1-3???

    Any help would be great...

    Cheers
    Dave.

    Dave.
Your blower fan resistor pack is faulty.
When this packs in you loose speed control on positions 1,2 and 3 but 4 continues to operate because 4 is a direct feed to the blower fan and dosen't have any resistors in the circuit.
New resistor pack needed. Easy fix.

    Cheers.

    Saw that in the manual.

    I'll get onto that then....
