Where have I seen a pic in the past week? I'm sure it was referenced on AULRO.
Hi all.
Just wondering if anybody has "successfully" made a Dual spare wheel carrier for a Series I Disco. I have spoken to JC, who is investigating but has anybody on the "big island" had any luck? I'm going to fit a full length roof top tent and wont have any option to carry one on a roof rack (not preferred option anyway) but want to be able to carry 2 spares for remote travel etc. I have spoken to Kaymar etc but they only do / did a single carrier.
Any thoughts / input welcome.
Cheers

I only remembered it because I posted it.
Yes it does have a Kaymar sticker on it.
The seller writes that it is a Kaymar bar custom modified by ARB to be a dual wheel carrier (if I read it right?), the only one in existence apparently.
This is the first and only D1 with a dual wheel carrier I have personally seen.
Hi guys
Thanks for the link / info.
Disco is still for sale (no supprise) but I'm not that keen (19K) for it.

So someone has successfully made a dual wheel carrier for a D1, two now including the ho hars!
It appears the best direction might be to start with an already manufactured steel rear bar and then modify it to add the wheel carriers.
You would also need to beef up the rear springs, maybe a set of airbags might be the best option.
I don't think it will get any bites at 19k, but definitely a clean car and love that wheel carrier.
