    Door Latch Spring

I have just replaced a broken latch spring in the passenger side front door.Symptoms were the locking button dropping down, after being released, leaving the door locked.Springs were bought from[EMAIL="www.disco-compatible-parts.com"] who trade on ebay. They are handed 2x left and 3x right side, one being for the tailgate.Total cost from the UK was $31.
Alternative would be to make them up oneself, should be easy enough to cut up a similar diameter spring.Or else try [EMAIL="www.lrseries.com"] part no MTC9505 Door Lock Mechanism Link Spring only $1.33 each.
All came apart fairly easy, did not realise the plug to the mirror had a kind of collar around it which prevented it from passing through the window frame...I trimmed it with a stanley knife before the collar dropped off by itself. It was not obvious where the broken spring came from, but closer inspection of the instructions that came with the springs helped.Even though I took photos to aid refitting I still was baffled by the order the lock button rod and the transfer arm between the servo went.Suppose it could have been the few beers required to maintain patience.
