Rolled D2 - Panel Beater Wanted!

    You wouldn't read about it!

Spent the weekend fixing up all the remaining problem with the D2.
Went 1km up the road and rolled it onto its side when testing HDC in reverse gear.

First I tested out HDC going forward on a local hill - no probs. Turned around went a few metres back up the hill, then reversed down to check HDC in reverse. tryres slid sideways and backward into ruts, then toppled over onto its side. It was all very gentle.

Now I am looking for a panel beater I can trust near gippsland to repair the damage.

I will post some pics when I get to the stage that I can bear to look at them!

I almost did the same thing. Used the HDC after forward progress stopped. Suddenly she slue sideways, stoping at about 45deg acroos the hill. Still dont know WTF happened.
Luckly we had another 4x4 to pull it straight from the top.
Dont think I'll be useing HDC in reverse from now on.

I only use HDC to work my ABS system, its not required in a manual TD5 Disco, way too fast.Never been in an auto TD5 off-road,may be usefull there????
Sorry to hear of your grief, hope its an easy fix.
    GOODLUCK

Yep me too, HDC in reverse on a loose surface is very sketchy....

I've used HDC going down a pretty steep hill forwards and frankly I think it allows the car to go too fast initially, then slows it right down. It's supposed to go to about 7kph before it activates but it felt faster than that....I was more interested in what was going on than looking at the speedo ...mind you it was pretty steep and it took a lot of effort to not go for the brakes! Pretty rough ground surface also.....don't think I'd be happy doing it in reverse That's with Td5 auto. May explain why the dead foot rest pedal is bent forward somewhat as well!
