Blocked air conditioner waste water outlets

    Hey Guys

I've had a really good look, but can't find these on my 2000 D2.

Can you please point me in the right direction ... my carpets are really wet!

    Thanks

Go underneath and look up by the front prop (by the transfer box end and you will see them, rubber tubes protruding from the body "tunnel", one either side, a torch will help locate them.

If yours is an automatic D2, the left hand side is DIRECTLY above the gear position switch on the Autobox, the right hand side is directly above the "double" UJ on the front prop (transfer box end)

    Thanks for that!

Found them. The right one was blocked ... but it's the left (passenger side) with the wet carpets ????

Anything else I should look for?

    air con drains

You may find there are no tubes, just a small rubber nipple on either side in the positions indicated. They are hard to see.they are around 1/2 inch diam.with a conical end with splits in the ends.

when you find them, run a piece of stiff wire up them.
If you get a face full of dirty water thats a plus.

to fix permently get some 10mm beverage tubing and push

them into the nipples then lead them clear of the switch and uni joint.
You can tie them off with cable ties easily enough and all the water will drain away clear of those 2 points.

If the water looks or feels like it has coolant in it,maybe a leaking heater core.

No ... no coolant in the water from the air-con outlets. I've just removed the niples ... can't see the point of them if I'm not going through deep water crossings.

I've now propped up the carpets to let them dry (this could take some time) The water in the foot wells seems clean enough ... could I have a leaking windscreen?

    Thanks

    air con drains

Yes you could have a windscreen leak,if the screen has been replaced a leak especially on the passengers side is not uncommon.
you really do need tubes on your aircon drains, its the water coming out thats the issue.
the aircon system generates a lot of water and it drips directly onto the gearbox switch and causes problems,as does the other side which can saturate the uni joint and also cause issues.
If you have the sealed Cardin joint without grease nipples a good idea is to replace with greasables.
those unis have been known to fail and take out the gearbox, this is a known issue.

    Thanks Trev.

Still got the original windscreen from Land Rover.

Well ... I've got it parked in the sun, hopefully it will dry the carpets out in a week or 2 and we'll see if the one blocked outlet nipple is the cause.

    Thanks everyone for your input.

    Cheers

Also make sure the connection on the inside is correct, sometimes the tube disconnects just above the carpet. Position the rubber onto its pipe so it drains outside (not inside) & hopefully that is all done
If water still drains inside check the heater box on the passneger side of the vehicle, sometimes water can come in from this.
You will need to remove the wndscreen cowling from the lower section of the windscreen to see in the heater box for water marks.
If it does, you will need to make up some type of cover.

    HTH.

I reckon this is the most likely scenario although it is strange that it has started to occur without any work being done on or around the windscreen. Water can run down the windscreen, then under the lower cowling, and straight into the heater air inlet. This is about 30 cm from the edge of the windscreen on the passenger side. You may be able to stick your fingers up underneath the cowling to see if there is dampness in the box. There should be a piece of foam inside it that will be dripping wet if this is the problem.

This issue is caused by a ridiculously stupid design fault. I don't know how Landrover gets away with this sort of stuff.

    Cheers
