hi guys
ive been going through the mods to do on a disco 2 and found the cdl one is probably the most important. i know tis to be true as from going from my rangie to the disco with no CDL i found a big difference.
what i want to know is what ia the best way to go about it. i guess i need to find out if i have the right transmission and how to find out if i do, then is there a place to get this lever from or do i make one or rip off a later model
let me know as it would be a great help
cheers dan

2024 RRS on the road
2011 D4 3.0 in the drive way
1999 D2 V8, in heaven
1984 RRC, in hell
Your on the right track...
What year is your D2?
I'd always suggest getting the genuine lever or the Ashcroft unit..
Solonoids etc are a point of failure...
I went for the homemade under body push-pull lever.
I find it so simple and easy to use.
Simply reach under and pull when off road, reach under and push when on road.
With the SLABS wire cut, there are no other issues to bother about.

The one I made is here:
The Rover Shoppe: Products
I found that if you make the bracket 6" long rather than 4", you can drill the mounting holes further down the bracket to make it easier to screw on.
I made the handle a couple of inches longer to clear my ACE module/piping.
You will also need to put a bit of a set in the handle to make it fit, at least I had to.

Alan
