    D2 sagging roof

    Hi All,
I know that there is a multitude of posts relating to this and I have read them all... however... am wondering if someone can make recommendations of a motor trimmer in the Morninton Peninsula area that can do this for me...
I dont know if there are some that specialise in LRs or not? Please PM me if you cannot (aren't alloweded to) post the details :-)

    Thanks,
    Lp

That may be the case but you do get CRAP motor trimmers too thus the question about whether anyone had used anyone worthy of recommendation specific to my location. I am sure you wouldn't want a crap motor trimmer doing work on your machine eh :-)

    Thanks Dudette!!

    Trimmer in Melb

I would like a recommendation for somewhere in Melbourne.

I have called three places and they have all told me that they cant get the material to do a Discovery because its too wide and therefore they would need to create a join in the roof in the middle of the car and run the fabric 'across' instead of 'down' the car.... they tell me it will look average and I wouldn't be happy with the job... yet I see people on here getting their linings redone quite often.

Any recommendations in Northeastern/Eastern suburbs of Melbourne would be greatly appreciated.

    Drew

I know I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but if the original lining is in good, clean condition, why can it not be removed, the board prepped and the original material re-used?
The stuff is only glued to the head board originally.
    But maybe not??

** astormsau - that seems very odd. I called two places around my side of town and none of them mentioned anything like that. I did ask about the colour and they said they should have it in stock if not closely matched. You may want to call around some other places? but I am sure there are folk from that side of town who may be able to offer more help.

I use to live east also ... have you tried places around ringwood / nunawading/mitcham etc? Maybe go into some of the bike shops along the strip in ringwood and ask if there are any motortrimmers that they use. From memory I remember one being tucked behind godfreys when I was looking at getting my motorbike seat recovered (I know it's for a motorbike but they may be able to put you onto someone)

Also, for my roof lining, the price I was quoted was $320 with them doing everything and I am a lady (not DUDE) owner!!

** Wopac5 - thanks for the tip, when I take the roof lining to them I will speak with them about seeing whether they can re-utilise the existing one. Will be interesting to see if they will charge more though!

    Cheers,
    Lp

I would say that the only issue with that is if it is the old style lining it will be foam backed and it sags once the foam disintergrates. Once this happens then it needs replacing.

The 'new' style does not have the foam and hence lasts a lot longer.
