    UK - Ebay Keys

Just looking for experiences with buying Keys from the UK and using them in Australia.
I am aware of the frequency that is required, but wondering if anyone has purchased a Rover 75 key (UK Says Compatible to Discovery) and been able to use it.

Looking for experiences from both frequency discoveries.

Is the Code on the back of the keys only for the key fob, or does it also correspond with the internal circuit board?

I noticed that if you search for Discovery keys a number of options come up just wondering about key blade removal etc. Happy to experiment for the right price but still want to get a key that works in the end.

I know this topic has been overdone, just wanting actual experience on those that have taken the step and triumphed or Failed. Just trying to tap into the collective wisdom of those who have gone before me.

    Rover? They are not compatible.

I'm pretty sure you'll find the blade for the key (Rover) is totally different and therefore will not work.

Add a link to the Ebay site and I should be able to confirm but pretty certain it won't work.

Not sure which number you are referring to. The one on the sticker of the circuit board is the code used to program the fob. 100% certain it has no connection to frequency. The number on the fob case is the Valeo number. Both the D2 and Rover have the same number but the blade is different along with the connection.

If you have looked all through the forum prices vary from $85 - $150 and they are Land Rover keys not Rover keys so maybe just get a Land Rover key.

I have purchased a genuine key from the UK chaps for $140.

    Regards
    Andrew

    Look no further.

Pretty sure this is what you are referring to.

Land Rover Discovery Rover 75 2 Button Key Case Cheape - eBay (item 140489295822 end time Feb-09-11 18:43:28 PST)

Pretty well much answers your question I think.

YEAH THE 75 ONES are good if the rubbers go on you rkey fob, you can just switch the key & transponder over..the 75 key blade itself though is different as they a laser cut type rather than standard disco ones...might be same as d2a though but never seen one of those

Just transfer the blade, chip & circuit board to the 75 one...the rubbers are a different style but function the same way

Is the connection for the blade the same? (as shown in this link Landrover Discovery 2 Key Blade C/W Plastic Clip on eBay (end time 15-Feb-11 13:15:42 GMT))

Assuming it is if you can simply pull out and switch blades? If it is then that sounds like the way to go if the fob is worn out.

Well if that's the case then also look at the mini key. Almost identical but only 2 bucks (at the moment).
