water leak in passenger side during rain

I seem to have a small leak on the passenger side when it rains.
The sponge foam on the cardboard cover panel the covers the heater blower is wet and the water sits just near the passenger kick panel.
In the any water ingress areas that are susceptible to the D2.
I feel it might be coming in via an air intake?
could a blocked drain hole on the mudguard cause this ?
We did have a lot of autumn leaves covering the disco daily, wonder if a small blockage on a drain tube would cause this.

There is a drain on each side of the plenum chamber.
I washed my plenum out to find 1 had blocked so the water decided the heater fan was the place to be

Also in the past there have been posts on sunroof drains blocking(were fitted).
And there was 1 leaking past the door check strap.
The thread said the tell tale trail took abit of finding.

Your first thought is were I'd be heading, let us know what you find please.
    Cheers, Kyle

I'm leaning more to the plenum drain partial blockage, and it's not letting out the water fast enough when we get a down pour.

windscreens are also prone to leaking at top corners, and also if you have factory roof bars, they can leak in through the rubber grommet , water then travels down the roof lining, down the a pillars it is fibreglass backed so you wont notice where the water comes in

The big plastic trim along the bottom of the windscreen starts to sag, then water runs underneath, into the fresh air intakes for the heaters and into the cab.

If you pull out the rubber gromet things around the two electrical conectors on the plenum one on each side, this will allow twice as much water to get away and stop it getting over the lip of the intake. Since I have done this I have had no water get in.

I pulled the passenger side carpet up, even though the carpet was dry on top, it was saturated underneath with quite a bit of water.
The drain holes are not blocked on the plennum tray, but I believe it's getting in as per pic.
The plastic /rubber lip is not more that a couple of cms above the tray and heavy enough rain I reckon would raise the water level enough to easily get in to the cabin.
I'm going to run a bead of sikaflex along the seam of the inner rubber/plastic piece and the metal opening.

There is chalking at the bottom of each A-pillar. On my D2 it had dried out and was leaking on both sides.
I fixed the leaks by 1st removing the A-pillar trims, then removing the old chalking and replacing it with silicon.

I had similar leaks in my D1.

There is a plastic bung in the pillar, it was split and water leaked in. I sealed it up with silicone rubber as a short term fix until I could get home to fix it.

    Sorry about the quality.

Another source of leaks I fixed was the plate behind the air intakes that has (if I recall correctly) the wiper motor. The seal around that was leaking quite badly.

See also: Getting Wet! where I gave a little more detail.

Whilst removing the passenger side kick panel, I broke the head off that plactic "dooverlacky", so when I replace it I might silicon the thing in to seal it.
