Britpart Heavy Duty Rear Bumper - Disco 2

Just got a reply from Paddock Spares and Accessories and they are willing and able to freight the Britpart Heavy Duty Rear Bumper - Disco 2 ( Britpart Heavy Duty Rear Bumper - Disco 2 ) to Australia (POC is Tom from Customer Services).

    The bar is GBP 179.00.
They have quoted a heafty GBP 234.00 for freight.
At the current exchange rate that is AUD $650.00 delivered to your doorstep. Not a bad price considering that a member on here told me he purchase the same unit for AUD $850.00+ here in Australia.

Just thought I'd let people know incase anyone is interested.

I like it with the 2 Recovery points and 2 hi-lift jack points. But it's only 4mm, where I think others locally are producing 5mm units.

    EDIT: correction, 3mm units here.

My 2 cents 4mm is more than enough.
5mm is just plain overkill and uneccessary weight.

    cheers

AUD$850 is madness, hope I am not the member you are referring to....We all love this high Aussie dollar, but it really is killing retail. And yes 5mm is overkill, all my bars are 3mm and I haven't had one fail.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but the tow bar in that pic from Britpart has to be the worst looking thing I've ever seen!

Receiver type hitches aren't legal in the UK (since the mid 90's from memory) so drop plates are on almost everything!

$200 markup from a retailer on a $700-$800 unit is not much more than 20%. pretty sure not too many stores would be able to cover rent and wages and warehousing and freight on only a 20% markup.
i for one would be supporting local suppliers/businesses if there was only 20 odd % difference

X 2, I got mine from Rovavraft when you still could.
Its a good bar, nothing flash but with a nice tongue that attaches underneath to the tow hitch fram attachments, which makes it nice and strong. Im sure you could weld a post to it for accessories such as a swing tyre carrier
