    Mine wasn't that crook. Looks like you got your monies worth, but must have been burning/losing a bit of oil.

    Believe it or not, that was RE-FITTED in almost that condition by an LR independent garage during an engine rebuild.
    Little wonder it needed rebuilding after just 40k kms.

    Only noticed it was that bad when it was taken out again due to oil leak from rear end of engine (with much help from some fellow AULRO-ians). Lots of bits of rubber down the ports and floating around in/near the springs.

    I reused mine which looked almost new. All I did was add some non hardening gasket goo and I have solved my oil leaks.
