    Fuel price and economy

For all those other anally retentive types, like me, I thought you might be interested in my graphs of fuel fill prices and economy of my D2a (TD5 manual, chipped) over the past 6 years. Overall fuel economy has been 11.6L/100km.

I just remember I meant to adjust the economy figures for my larger tyres which improves the figures by 5%. So overall figure is 11L/100km. Could be better if not for the draw system and other bits I carry around (adds 150kg to usual weight).

V8 235,000k ES (with the 8" wide tyres)

Well after suffering Melbourne traffic and celebrating if I get anywhere near 18L/100, I moved to Adelaide and now enjoy a 30 odd K drive along the coast and the down the freeway to Ed Parks avoiding the city and returned today an average for the week of 14.2l/100. yeah TD5 dudes, I know thats not news to you but for the V8 fraternity this is a minor miracle.:...and any other of those stupid moving thingys..

    I'd call 14.2l/100km a major miracle for a V8!
    My 1999 D2 V8 does 20 - 22 l/100km on lpg

But at less than 60c a litre it's cheaper to run than a diesel using 9l/100km!
(shame about the loss of boot space though)

    Over 77,000kms and 4 years have averaged 16.63l per 100kms in my '02 D2 V8 auto.

Twice achieved under 14l a few years ago, and have no idea how to repeat it! At the other extreme, highest was just under 23l per 100kms, towing fully loaded camper trailer, roof rack loaded and family on board.

Has anyone used Caltex Premium Diesel? "It's the diesel that cleans!"
Cleans out your wallet no doubt!

and for the record ... my td5 averages 12 ltrs/100.
