Question Do I have CDL?? Help please...

    Hi All,
well... front drive shaft is out to have its work done on the UJs .... so now I have no idea if my D2 comes with CDL or if I need to do something manually to engage it? Obviously if I don't have CDL I won't be able to drive anywhere, so could someone pls confirm how I check if I have CDL?

Also, I went through the Rave CD and couldn't find anything specifically mentioning to CDL or Diff lock or is the info somewhere else?

Not too sure what to search on as search strings but suuuuure would appreciate some help on what I can look for if I have it on Lp or not... ???

    Thanks,

    Lp

    Hi LP,

You can tell by the number on the side of the case, but the easiest way I think is probably to get under and reach up with your hand and see whether there is a lug nut on the top of the transfer case anywhere...if so, you have the internals for the CDL and can activate it using a shifter.

    What year was yours made?

    Cheers

please take a look at this thread.... it will show you all you need to know.
You can turn that with a wrench since you probably do not have the shifter or linkage to do this from the cabin.
    Again what year?
Take care hope this helps you

If it is a 2000 it will have the cdl installed and the nut will be there - you need to buy and fit/get fitted an actuator kit.

Hi again, just got a quick question... if it is there, does it get turned clockwise OR anticlockwise and how much/many turns, does the nut stay on there??

    Thanks

A 2000 will have the CDL internals fitted unless the transfer case has been replaced at some point. June or early July 2001 (Build Date) is the point the CDL internals were removed from production D2's.

Lying underneath it's anti-clockwise, and it's only 1/4 of a turn or so.

Spigott needs 1/8 of a turn (45deg) in a anticlockwise direction if looking from underneath.
