Did a search but didn't find much on this
The V8 rad's have very thin tubes and can block easily, only solution is to have it rodded out.
Just wondering how the radiators are in these D2 TD5,
same problem or do they not block as easily?![]()

I have read of some folk who do this to their TD5 radiators too.
I feel regular coolant maintanance is the key.
Hello,
I have just taken off the end tans of a TD5 radiator which had done 150,000ks quite clean inside but there is like a waxey substance over the whole surface quite dirty on the lower half the holes though would be a couple of millimeters at the most, two rows I am thinking of rodding it out a make a couple of custom tanks at the ends, a silly question what do they use to rod these out ?? please no silly answers...like a rod !!!!! thanks..

My local radiator fella seems to have a series of old style oil dipstick looking
rods of different widths and thickness's hanging on his wall.
Ive never asked him what he made them out of or where he got them.
he did tell me you have to be very careful when pushing the rods through not damaging the rad tubes
I would not mind fitting an all alloy Radiator to mine with increased cooling capacity over the oem. Suggestions????
Regards
Robbo
About $1K for a D2a when I checked several months ago. That applied to both the local Queensland firm (PWR) and an import (cost plus transport) from I think Allard or TD5Alive in UK?
Jose from TD5Inside says they still use standard LR for their comp vehicles and have never had a failure, so I went with that in the end - in part because UK didn't respond in time and i needed to make a decision.

hi robbo as a radiator repairer of 31 years alloy rads are good if you pay the money for a good one pwr are one of the best but remember they are a bit more ion the maintnance side you need to run a filter of some kind as you can,t just pull them a part to clean them out and use good quality coolants and change regulary.
