TD5 MAF stuffed??
Back ground first:
Have a 2000 td5 auto with remap (on NNN ECU), D2a intercooler, 2.5 inch hi flow exhaust, lifted with bar work etc.
Been having issues with extremely high EGT's which I thought was just the particular remap I got (is capable of flying up to 1000 degrees if I don't watch the gauge!!!!!!!!), but as I did not fit the EGT gauge till after the remap I put the original MSB ECU in to compare and even that hit the maximum 750 degrees (not sure if that is normal on standard map?) - EGT probe pre-turbo.
I have also been getting increasingly bad fuel consumption in the range of 17-20L/100km... Vehicle has been getting heavier and higher, but I have heard of td5's higher and heavier than mine getting better fuel consumption.
Recently I was reading about stuffed MAF sensors and thought I would check mine as I am sure this could cause excessive fuel consumption and high EGT's.
Hooked up the hawkeye and that showed flow to be about 59 at idle, which I believe is about right. I then checked the resistance between the pins on the MAF which gave readings of:
Pins 1 & 2 = 16.85 k ohms
Pins 1 & 3 = 5.8 m ohms
Pins 2 & 3 = 3.4 m ohms
Am I right in believing the second and third readings are WAY too low and show that my MAF is in fact stuffed???
Thoughts anyone??

Anything much under 20Mohms for the last two readings a pretty good indicator the MAF is suspect.

Mate I just did a check with a multi meter on mine and had similar readings. Sprayed it with contact cleaner and it's up around 21m o now. Might be worth a second look.

I'd agree with Bronson, give it a clean with contact cleaner and re test. Also if the hawkeye allows, get some airflow readings when you are driving, which will give a second opinion. They should range from mid 100's to mid 500's
With respect to fuel consumption I've had a look at my fuel figures since I replaced my MAF in September and I'm seeing about a 5% improvement in fuel consumption. Around town is now low 12l/100km and towing the van is 15l/100km. My D2a is totally standard.
Cheers
Steve
