I'm replacing my front right hub and ABS sensor. There is a Britpart version that says is OEM and sits between Allmakes and LR brand pricing. Its not the cheapest. Would I be right to think that this will have Timken bearings? See link below:

Run into a similar situation with my 4bolt steering box
Had a look at one in perth, "Landrover OEM" which was branded Adwest,
Got a relative to look at a couple in the uk all branded Adwest with no noticeble difference
Ended up getting the britpart boxed one marked as oem again branded Adwest
got it landed in Perth for about $450 so it wouldn't supprise me at all if your hub came from the same factory as the landrover original

That is a brave call.
OEM is used very loosely to describe parts made by a company that has supplied LR with equipment in the past. As an example Dunlop supplied airbags for the Range Rover but never supplied Discovery 2 airbags to LR, yet they are usually described as an OEM manufacturer for D2 bags. Contitech was the original supplier and the LR replacement parts are Contitech branded.
Pricing on aftermarket parts is very competitive, and if one supplier can source a part for £XXX.XX pounds then their competitors will have access to pretty similar pricing. The corollary of that is if a supplier is offering a part at a substantially lower price than their competitors then the part is going to be more cheaply made. Britcar seems to be pretty generous with their OEM attributions.
Add: Having had a look at some pics of the Britcar hub it looks like the sensor is wabco branded so that it is a good start.

Have a look at a Cherokee PAIR , which is basically exactly the same thing and tell me $400 for a wheel bearing is "competitive" . There are lots of much cheaper ones also , but I picked what looks like a good quality set.
The aftermarket parts places are just like wreckers , they set their prices as a percentage of original and they tend to stick together until someone becomes desperate enough to break the cycle.

SupporterI'd read before that the sensor is genuine with the Britpart item and now I'm told that Timken are the only ones who manufacture the bearing. I rarely buy Britpart, but in this situation Allmakes and Bearmach produce a replacement item which costs up to $50 less than Britpart. That is saying something. Bearmach and Allmakes also do an upmarket part for about $50 or more than Britpart. I don't feel like shelling out an extra $300 for LR on the box.
