    Rear door adjustment.

Hey guys. I just thought I'd post up some pictures of the rear door adjustment bolts. My door wasn't down too much but it was just making a bit hard to shut as it slid into the guide.

RAVE has the bolt torque as 35nm.

I have circles the bolts and you can see from the unpainted quarter (or so) moon, how much I have adjusted. I possibly shoud have done half the distance on the bottom and half on the top but it aligns fine. I guess if I have to adjust it next time I'll do just the bottom and then I'll be even.

FYI cutting and then tapping the plastic dust guard is much better than removing it and dealing with the black silicon/glue that holds it in place.

I have tried adjusting mine but still have a daylight gap at the top above the lock, bought some foam tape to push the seal out which seems to help.

Maybe the Mods can combine these 2 threads.

I will admit mine isn't as tight at the top as it is near the latch but there isn't a gap.

So what do you do, just loosen off somewhat, juggle the door to position, and re tighten?
Tghough I should probably do the remove hinge and smack it bit since absolutely nothing was wrong before little door swing incident..

That's it but looking at your other thread, I'd be bending the hinge back or getting another.

We disciplined the other hinge with the jack lol
Might now be within the realms of the adjustment as you illustrated but I wont bother, it's going pretty well (And I hate taking trim off... well more hate putting it back on)

I should add to this thread. While it is posted else where, it's relivant here.

I have removed the rear door card twice without breaking the plastic clips. There are avalible in packs on eBay of however many there are on the rear door.

I used a steel ruller and slid it behind the card up to the plactic clip and then twisted the ruller to level the clips out close to their base. I think the problems occur when the clips are pulled at an angle with the door card itself. I suspect the clips can also be pulled out of the card if pulled hard enough.

Auto barn has sets of trim removal tools. Fibre reinforced plastic, around $25-for a set of 6 tools. Don't scratch or mark anything and nice and tapered to get under trims. Also have notched to get either side of pins to lever them out.
