    Disable immobiliser using nanocom

    Hi

Anyone knows how to Disable immobiliser using nanocom? It scared me off this morning because I could not switched off immobiliser using key fob after few tries.

Problem is most of the shop closed if I need to get a new battery for my fob and we are at the camp site too.

    Thanks.

Hi, unfortunately as long as it's immobilised no tester will comunicate with the BCU... that's how it is conceived for safety reasons, that's why i thought to that Disco 2 Recommendation for D2 owners - Land Rover Zone some time ago

I don't think you can disable the immobilizer using a nanocom. I did try for a while to do this and then spent about a week sorting the settings out again so that everything would work.
You can get it programmed out of the ECU altogether though. I know Bell Auto Services can do this and he has done this on mine. I did it so that if I was somewhere remote and the A10 unit (that controls the immobilization functions) fried itself (which I have read about happening) I would not be totally stuffed. To me it just eliminated one potential problem - admittedly one with a small probability but as he was chipping the ECU anyway I thought I might as well get it done.

So I can disarm the immobiliser when I unlock the driver door? Even I arm immobiliser using the fob earlier?

It's possible to disable completely the immobiliser with nanocom or other dedicated tester as long as you can comunicate with the BCU, which is not the case when the car is immobilised, the only problem with nanocom(not with others) is that from a strange reason it used to have a mind of it's own in relation with the BCU and alters settings without request

just for accuracy, if by A10 you actually meant 10AS that's the alarm system for D1 and Defender, D2s alarm is in a chip within the BCU.

only if the alarm setting is like in the link i posted earlyer("always disarm withkey"), otherwise if it's locked with fob it will get immobilised when you unlock with the key and you can't comunicate with the BCU, the only thing you can do is to iuse the EKA procedure to disable the immobiliser then connect with nanocom, set on "always...." after that the immobiliser will be disabled with key too, if you dont know the EKA the only way you can remobilise it now is with fob...period
