My First Mod - 2 inch lift

Just had my first modification completed and am really pleased with the result.

A 2 inch lift on my SLS equipped D2.

Includes Bilstein shocks front and rear, king springs on front and the usual SLS height extenders etc. Also now has a new Bilstein steering damper and it drives fantastically.

Bit the bullet and replaced the head gaskets, radiator, viscous fan, drivers door lock actuator and the indicator switch.

    Looks great Simon,

From my other post, I am interested to find out what Bilstein Shocks you have, as the Aust distributor for Bilsteins indicate they do not do a SLS shock, and any Bilstein shock on a SLS D2 voids it's warranty.

The distributor, who is a friend of a friend is interested to know what we are all running on our Disco's as they will look at bringing in the right shocks to Aus if they can find out which ones they are.
They will be following up with Germany to see if the can assist.
    Currently they have the following:

    Fronts BE56046
    Rears BE56047

    However cannot recognise:
    Fronts F4-BE5-B994-MO
    Rears F4-BE5-B995-MO

Which are supposedly the 2 inch lift Bilsteins others are running.

Like yourself I am looking at King Springs as well. I have recently heard mixed reports on the dobsons, hence I am looking at options.

    Cheers
    JB.

Fronts are (Bilstein) F4-BE5-B994-MO, Rears are F4-BE5-B995-MO
    Steering Damper is F4-BE3-A580-HO.

    The car drives extremly well.

AMV did the fitting and provide 12 a month warranty.

PM inbox now ok, I deleted a bunch of old stuff. Its something to do with my subsciption payment failing which has now limited the number of PM's I can store.

Hope to sort out the subscription thing asap.

I have been looking at excatly the same setup with the extended Billstein shocks and 50mm extended King Springs.

With this setup does the spring stay in its seat under full drop (the Billstein supplier says they wont) and do you need to space the front crossmember and extend any brake lines etc.

    Cheers,

    Chris
